About this page
Did you understand the conversation? Maybe there were some new words, such as cheap and expensive. Very useful words. Jesse also says a useful word ‘thirsty’. Do you know what the opposite of ‘thirsty’ is? That’s right, hungry. Make a note of these words. There is a quiz later. Before we talked about countable and uncountable nouns. Do you remember? English nouns can be very different to other languages. Did you hear Rill ask Jesse, “Do you want a cup of ice coffee?” Remember that cups are countable. One cup, two cups, three cups. So Rill says ‘a cup’. Usually people only drink one cup at one time! Coffee and Tea are not countable – but – often your hear people say “Do you want a Tea?” Really they mean A CUP of tea.
