We can say 1 cup, 2 cups, 3 cups. So the word 'cup' is a count noun. We cannot say 1 information. There are NO informations. We say 'a piece of information'. So the word 'information' is a non-count noun. Now with cup, we need an article, usually ‘A’, but what does Jesse say? She doesn’t like coffee but she likes tea. She says, “but I like tea.” Now because tea is an uncountable noun, and she means the idea of tea, she doesn’t use an article. We just say, I like tea. I don’t like coffee. Look at the words below.
